It is the duty of the Bar Council to protect the integrity of itself and its members. They are a bastion for the maintainence of law and order and a just and fair society. Accusing them of being influenced by others is similar to accusing them of being dishonest. The minister has thrown a taint publicly onto them. I am sure the Bar Council will not keep quiet about this. I will not be surprised if they demand an apology or a retraction from him. Will we see another black and white march to RTM,this time? What is wrong with asking for a clean judiciary. Don't we need it? If it is already clean the Chief Justice should come out and give the assurance.

The minister should meet the Bar Council and repeat the accusation. Although I am not sure if he can intellectually handle any possible discussion with them.
